NEWCASTLES FIRST & ONLY INTRODUCTION TO YIN YOGA COURSE
Life WithYIN is Sarah Truman's Signature Course to help introduce you into slow Yoga & slow living.
Yin Yoga is predominately a floor based practice, during which we work with the deeper connective tissue (fascia) of the body. We relax the muscles of the body but we strengthen the muscle of the mind as we learn to sit in stillness & with sensation.
In a Yin Yoga practice we therapeutically apply stress to the body, we are aware of our maximum range of motion (our edge), we know our limitations, our boundaries & we safely explore various postures, shapes (in yoga we call them asanas), as we allow our selves to reduce tension & 'melt' built up blockages that form in the body due to every day stresses, traumas, anxieties, fears, worries & maybe even some grief.
In this course we will cover:
Skelton variation - why your bones make a difference to your Yoga practice
Tension v Compression - understanding what your feeling & discovering what a 'stretch' really feels like
Pose Variations - how to find the perfect pose for you & to let go of what every one else id doing Develop a basic understanding of the energy that flows through out the body (the meridians) & how different poses impact you mentally, physically & emotionally.
PLUS INCLUDES A FULL 90 MINUTE PRACTICE
You will leave this series with an in depth knowledge of the practice & principles of Yin Yoga & how to implement them in your ongoing Yoga practice
All participants receive a 10% voucher that can be used for an other workshops/series or weekly class passes.
