MANTRA MEDITATION

Using the Bija Sound Mantras

We are so often all familiar with the vibrational sound OM but did you know that there are other vibrational sounds that can assist you in connecting with the elements?

Nature & connecting to the elements has been used in healing modalities across the globe for centuries.

In Yoga we link to the elements in many ways including through our various Asanas (postures), through our various breath work practices (pranayama), through the properties in the food we consume & through the sounds we make.

MANTA

=

MA (MIND) TRA (TOOLS)

Mantra Meditation is a tool for the Mind to help support the Mind back into balance. If we want to change shift the energy in the external world we can chant these Mantra outwardly as we do in the practice of Kirtan. For these practices as we are focusing on shifting the subtle energies within we will be practicing the Mantras silently in the mind space.

EARTH - WATER - FIRE - AIR - SPACE

LAM - VAM - RAM - YAM - HAM

How to choose a practice?

Take a moment for self reflection - how are you feeling?

Then ask your self what do you need to come back to balance?

For example:

If our feeling angry & firey - perhaps try the Earth Mantra LAM or if your feeling Lathergic or depressed maybe try Yam or RAM

or

Maybe set your self a 5 day reset challenge and do one practice each day for 5 days !

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.

Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
